1999 to 2016 Super Duty - 2008 Will not crank over.Passive Anti-theft system Problem - I have a 2008 F-350. The Anti-theft light blinks rapidly and the truck will not turn over. Give it some time or take the key out of the ignition and in repeatedly and it will start. Sometimes not till the next day.
Insert the ignition key and turn it to the on position and then attempt to start the engine (crank over), the engine wont start. With the key still in the run position wait 10 minutes and the security light should blink and then go out. Turn the key off and wait 5 seconds. Repeat these steps for a total for 3, 10 minute cycles.From there, leave the key in the ignition and in “accessory” mode for 10 minutes. This should give the computer time to recognize the key and reset the system. At this point, the anti-theft warning light on your dashboard should shut off. Once the dashboard light is off, turn the ignition off and let the truck sit for a couple of minutes
2) turn ignition key to on. wait 10 minutes and light stops blinking. turn off then try to restart. You may need to attempt this 3 to 5 times because sometimes it is successful on later tries. 3) Disconnect cables from battery. You MUST disconnect BOTH cables. Wait 5 minutes. Reconnect them and then try start again. Mike E December 28, 2020. To reset the anti-theft on the vehicle You will need to first get into the vehicle and shut the doors. With the doors shut You want to put the key into the ignition slot and turn it on. Once You have turned it on You will then want to turn it back to the off position. Now repeat this procesS8 more times, and make sure 1GvID.
